Penguin Ed's has different " side potatoes" at each of the different restaurants ! I think that is a neat way to be able to make all different kinds - - Everything any of my family have ever ordered and eaten here - * it is always delicious! You get to choose and add regular BBQ sauce or Hot BBQ sauce AT the table - great BBQ ! Love it!
🐷🐮🐔Well, well Fayettevillians...whoooo doesn't love RIBS that almost won't fit on yer plate??!!!😁😛Delish barbecue n sides to tickle yer belly!!!🌹🌹😍😛
Great service and great BBQ and fries.
The food is incredible! If you love bbq this is THE place to go! Mac and cheese is not so cheesy, sticky more than anything. But everything else is delicious!
A lot of food for a good price.
The food was really good. The atmosphere of the restaurant is pretty cool. If you like penguins this is a must see place. If you like BBQ it is also a must see place.
Ordered takeout -- 2 meats, 2 sides -- and when got home and opened everything up..... only 1 meat. <groan> called them and explained situation, they were very apologetic and offered to make it right by giving us a pound of pulled pork and a couple of cookies. Screwups happen, I get that, but I also appreciate that it's a pain to have to drive back and pick it up. As for the food.... the pulled pork was pretty good and the sides (baked beans and potato salad) were good too. The sliced brisket was tough, chewy and not much flavor. So took a star off for the order screw up and another for the sliced brisket.
Penguin Ed's is always a good experience but today they made me what I call a 'fat boy salad' it had sliced pork, beef, pulled pork, beef and smoked chicken with great croutons, nice mix of lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and of course dressing of my choice. Can't say enough about this salad or the team's willingness to please!
I really, really like the people at Penguin Ed's - their staff are incredibly pleasant and the environment is nice. While Penguin Ed's is not the first place I would go in town for the bets BBQ, they are deserving of your patronage. Try the tacos! They're really good (Seriously!)
Super fantastic potato salad
Great takeout options!
Usually very good, just not up to par this time.
This place is awesome! Nice staff, fantastic food! Potato salad some of the beat I’ve ever had. You won’t regret having a bite here.
Never have been let down by Penguin Eds! Love eating here!
My favorite BBQ in Fayetteville. The food comes out quickly, the portions are big, the brisket and pulled pork are cooked well, and the sides are great. I don't often eat bread and I devour the Texas toast. The prices are also really reasonable given the quality and quantity. Can't wait to come back to Fayetteville to have some more.
Awesome! Our meal was great and the service was great also.
The smoked chicken was fantastic, as was the baked potato! Friendly, relaxed vibe and great staff.
Love the place. Great food. Family friendly.
Awesome food, good service, great atmosphere!
Its a great little sandwich shop. I love their pulled pork sandwich. They do serve plate meals too. Casual atmisphere.
Great food. Wish they would add fries and onion rings.
Penguin Ed's is an NWA staple. Great Q, from the endless staff. Locally owned and operated.
It was as great as I remember. I live in Louisiana now but Penguin Ed's was always one of my favorite BBQ'S. Thanks for staying consistent!!
I stopped by and got the Sunday special. Meatloaf meal. Very reasonable priced.Only complaint is that mashed potatoes were instant and not mixed well. Dry, not enough water, also, no extra seasoning to them.Everything else was good. The staff was super nice and friendly.
This WAS going to be my first time eating here. Due to COVID they are only offering curbside orders only which is fine by me BUT I’ve been trying to place an order for the last 20 minutes. The line has been busy for TWENTY MINUTES STRAIGHT and when I finally got ahold of someone she immediately hung up the phone in my face. Never again if this is how you do customers.
Great food and friendly staff! They even have a vegetarian menu which is great if you have a vegetarian significant other like I do. They have several different bbq sauces too, including ghost pepper(my favorite).
I love this place. Great atmosphere and very enjoyable food. I get the pulled pork salad. Try the ghost pepper sauce. Not all that hot and wonderful flavor.
Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. I like that they don't bother you while you're dining. The food was pretty good, not my favorite BBQ, but still good. Prices were fair. Serving sizes were good, we had leftovers.
Good BBQ and nice prices. I believe this is where the original was located and it has a lot of penguin toys & ornaments on display here. I haven't been to the other locations, but have been here several times while I was in the area.
I asked my computer to point me to the best BBQ in Fayetteville and Penguin Ed's came up. My computer was mistaken. The restaurant is cool, but the chopped beef sandwich I ordered was dry as a bone and completely devoid of any flavor that would've hinted at it ever being in the proximity of smoke. My first clue should have been that it was served on Texas toast....any BBQ I would consider good would soak through that slice of bread before it ever got to the table. I will allow that I might have been there on an off day, and I am spoiled by having recently lived in Dallas, where first rate BBQ is pretty common, but the 1/2 of a chopped beef sandwich I was able to choke down was just awful, so awful I couldn't eat the rest.
I remember the portions being bigger years ago, but still a solid bbq restaurant. The meat was succulent and tasty. The bbq sauce was delicious. The season on the home fries and the preparation for the mac and cheese was delightful. The atmosphere is full of penguins and gives everyone the old school food service feel. The employees were very attentive and polite.
If you eat meat it's great. Good Vegetarian/ Vegan choices.
I enjoyed the rib combo. Very mouthwatering ribs.
Friendly staff, great selection of BBQ, fair prices, and a calm enviroment!
Great Place staff very friendly!! Heard about the place from a co-worker & it held up to the hype.. I had a loaded baked pot., Ribs & bread.. Ribs were tender feel off the bone.. The potato needed some help Not a Texas Spud
Really good BBQ, friendly and fast service.
Great food, family atmosphere good folks.
We stumbled upon Penguin Ed's while on vacation just outside of Fayetteville. We're from KC, so we are well acquainted with good BBQ. I truly believe that if Penguin Ed's were to open up in KC, they would fare very well. The brisket was melt in your mouth tender, the smoked chicken was to die for, smoked sausage was sliced thin and smoked to perfection, and all the sides we tried paired well. (Gotta love that fried okra) As fantastic as the BBQ was, the scene stealer were their homemade fried PIES. Freshly fried while you waited - crispy perfection on the outside, decadent filling on the inside. And a quick note about staff and service: servers and waitresses were quick with refills and attentive, restaurant was clean and had the nice, laid back atmosphere of all of my favorite BBQ joints. If we're ever in the area again, we will definitely revisit Penguin Ed's.
Only been there for breakfast, both times the food was amazing and lots of it.
Stopped by for the first time while visiting family. Prices are decent and food was okay. The huge cookies were by far my favorite part! Came in last minute with a group of 10 with no problem or wait. Self serve drink station which is very nice and overall pretty clean.
Searched for best restaurants in fayetteville and this place was on the list. Not sure why...the service is great and the employees are so kind. but unfortunately that’s all they have going for them. the food was, yikes...truly the most bland barbecue i have ever had in my life. And the mac and cheese was a disgrace. And i paid 11 dollars for dry meat with sides that left me so disappointed. Cmon, y’all! you can do better than this.
We're from Texas so maybe we're extra picky on barbecue but we found their meat dry. They crumbled their barbecue and it was dry and hard. Best place Northwest Arkansas Oklahoma or any place else we've been is Wright's BBQ their's is moist and juicy and very well smoked!
My whole family loves Ed's!
NO DINE IN!!! You lost me forever. That’s why you had to shut down weddington.
every time we have visited has been a great experience! The food is great! Love there are vegetarian foods and great beer!!! The beer selection is pretty good as well. Love the decor too...makes it fun
E d's is great just walk up to the front door smell that great BBQ. You know it's gonna be good
Really tastey pulled pork. Their BBQ hot sauce is awesome!
Over was really good service was good and friendly and food was good
Always Amazing! Drove from Springdale to it....its that yummy!
I ordered the meal with 2 meats, 2 sides and two drinks. The meat was good and juicy and a little sweet. The "hot" bbq was a little light but I like spicy; the potatoes fries are ok they are thick cut. The time I came was low flow of customers and the food was delivered to my table in a timely manner. Ordering/menu as you walk in to the establishment, down fall is closing out tab and wanting more beer. Staff has been very professional but did not check on if anything was needed or if everything was ok.
